Dr. Scott Aquanno

Dr. Scott Aquanno joined Ontario Tech University in 2013. He previously taught in the Political Science/Public Policy Department at the University of Toronto and at the Ross School of Politics at York University in Toronto, Ontario. He holds a PhD in Political Science from York University (2011). He developed his dissertation based on his training in public policy, political economy and monetary economics by focusing on the historical construction of the U.S. state’s unique ‘creditability’ in international financial markets. He adapted Weber’s notion of substantive validity to understand the modern role of the Federal Reserve and Treasury in relation to domestic and international bond markets and, on this basis, analyzed the policy roots and implications of the 2007-2009 financial crisis.
