Money shapes every part of our lives. From inflation and debt to wages, housing, and economic stability. Yet how money is created and how the monetary system actually works is rarely taught, and often misunderstood. Help The American Monetary Institute to change that. Togheter we can create a more sustainable, democratic and just monetary system that benefits everyone – not just a few.
Help us reach this year’s fundraising target of $15.000
to fund the AMI 2026 conference, ongoing cataloging work and cover year-round operating expenses
- $5,000 to retire the remaining costs from last fall’s conference
- $5,000 to fund our upcoming conference
- $5,000 to sustain ongoing cataloging work and cover year-round operating expenses
For over two decades, AMI has provided independent research, education, and historical analysis on the U.S. monetary system. We work to make complex monetary issues understandable to the public, policymakers, educators, and journalists — so economic decisions are based on knowledge, not myths or misinformation.
Your contribution helps:
- Educate the public on how money is created and how it enters the economy
- Support research into alternatives to debt-based money creation
- Preserve and share historical knowledge about monetary reform
- Provide clear, accessible resources for citizens seeking economic literacy
A healthy economy depends on an informed public. When people understand how the monetary system works, they are better equipped to evaluate policy, hold institutions accountable, and advocate for a stable and fair financial system.
By contributing today, you help spread knowledge that empowers citizens and strengthens economic understanding for generations to come.
